We are delighted to announce that Vulkan Technologies Private Limited has been honored with the Rotary CSR Award 2025 for Best CSR Project in Health Care, Large Enterprises. This award recognizes our significant efforts in the Upgradation of Anganwadis in the Pune region over the past two years, in partnership with the Rotary Club of Poona West. The award was handed over by Vice Admiral Gurcharan Singh, Commandant, NDA, Pune, who graced the event as the chief guest.

Anganwadis are rural child care centers in India, established by the government in 1975 under the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) program. The term “Anganwadi” translates to “courtyard shelter” in English. These centers play a crucial role in combating child hunger and malnutrition, providing basic health care, nutrition education, and pre-school activities. They serve children aged 0-6 years and also support expectant and lactating mothers.

Rotary International’s District 3131 covers the revenue districts of Pune and Raigad in Maharashtra, India. With close to 6000 members, it addresses a wide range of social and environmental issues through various programs and initiatives.

The Rotary CSR Awards were instituted in 2019 to recognize companies doing excellent community service through their CSR initiatives. These awards aim to raise awareness about social challenges and showcase impactful CSR projects. The awards are highly anticipated and celebrate outstanding efforts in categories such as healthcare, education, environment, and community development.

The Rotary Club of Poona West has been a key partner in the success of our Anganwadi upgradation project. Rotary Clubs are known for their extensive network and commitment to community service. They provide financial support, volunteer efforts, and strategic guidance to ensure the effective implementation of projects. The collaboration with Rotary Club of Poona West has enabled us to leverage their expertise and resources, making a significant impact on the lives of children and mothers in the Pune region.

Impact of the Project

Our project focused on upgrading 55 Anganwadis with 3,600 beneficiaries in the Pune region, specifically in Maval and Mulshi Taluka. The improvements included better infrastructure, enhanced health care services, and enriched educational programs. As a result, children now have access to improved nutrition, health care, and pre-school education. Additionally, young mothers receive better support and counselling, contributing to overall community development.
